THE ROLE
As a seasoned Customer/Sales Engineer in our San Mateo, CA location you will join our business development, marketing and sales team. You will act as a technical interface between our customer and partner development teams and the DeviceFidelity engineering team. Participate in the areas of product test, deployment, feature request analysis, SW integration and post sales support. Execute customer trials and pilots, followed by analysis and presentation of pilot data Provide SmartCard and JavaCard personalization support Interface with application developers Participate in RFI, RFP process Around 50% travel within the US, primarily to customer locations
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop mobile UI and interfaces with peripherals
- Architect and implement mobile API
- Spear-head and contribute to software definitions
- Design and implement system emulation
- Debug, build test performs and quality control processes
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred)
- 5-10 years of experience in a technical customer facing role Understanding of mobile handset industry as well as mobile application software
- 5-10 years of experience in developing Java/J2ME applications for mobile/wireless handsets
- Experience working in rapidly growing startup company (ideally in semiconductor systems, wireless, smart card, RFID or security space)
- Demonstrated ability to follow a robust and error-free development and test methodologies
- Ability to present technical solutions to a technical audience and understand customer needs and technical issues
- Strong understanding in underlying hardware components and architectures
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Hands on experience in the SmartCard industry, either as a developer or in customer support
- Prior experience as developer or in customer support with one or more mobile operating systems: Java/J2ME, Symbian, Android, Windows Mobile, Blackberry
- Knowledge of Near Field Communications, RFID or mobile payments
- Prior experience working with large enterprise software teams and mobile application development
